Police foils terrorist attack in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police foiled a massive terrorist plot in the federal capital on Saturday by recovering heavy arsenal including two suicide vests from a vehicle, DawnNews reported.

Police searched a suspected vehicle in Chatta Bakhtawar area of Islamabad and recovered weapons including suicide vests, hand grenades and rockets.
Police arrested a suspect and an investigation was underway.

Islamabad police have termed it a great success as timely action helped to thwart an untoward incident.

In a related development, police raided a house on the suspect’s indication and arrested another man and recovered heavy weapons from there.
Security had been tightened after the incident and police started snap-checking of vehicles in Islamabad
