LAHORE, Oct 14: PPP and PML-Q MPAs will hold a demonstration outside the Chief Minister`s Secretariat on The Mall on Saturday (today) to protest against PML-N government`s “inadequate measures to control dengue”.
Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Raja Riaz will lead the demonstration. PPP`s Shaukat Basra told Dawn that the opposition wanted to discuss the issue in the assembly but the PML-N managed to get the session prorogued.
He said now the opposition would raise the issue on roads and expose the government`s inefficiency in controlling the disease that caused a number of deaths in the province.
Responding, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said the Punjab government would welcome the sit-in.
“We will offer refreshments to those opposition members holding the sit-in,” he said while talking to reporters outside the Punjab Assembly building, reports APP.
He said that the opposition was holding the sit-in in response to the PML-N protest outside the presidency which obviously was against loadshedding.
About Shahbaz Taseer`s abduction case, the minister said there was some positive developments which might help resolve the case
