Governor Punjab Salman Taseer on Tuesday said that PML (N) leader Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif blew his chances of leading the country toward development because of his inability to steer clear of corruption charges.
Nawaz got several chances to lead the country and make it progressive but he himself indulged in corrupt practices, Taseer said while talking to newsmen after the 10th convocation ceremony of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU).
“It is not only my opinion but Supreme Court has declared Nawaz Sharif as corrupt”, he said.
Referring to the corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif especially concerning money laundering, Taseer said Zafar Ali Shah’s case is also an evidence of his corruption and “Nawaz Sharif must go for self accountability and realize his own faults instead of blaming others”.
To a question about his support in Aasia Bibi blasphemy case, he said ignorant `maulvis’ have no right to give any `Fatwa’ (decree). span of three months, he said.
