Nawaz says all stake holders including armed forces, opposition & parliament should be consulted in foreign policy


ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif has said the formulation of the country’s policy was not the exclusive domain of the government instead it should be made in consultations with the Parliament, Opposition and Pakistan Military.

He said that the chairman joint chiefs’ of staff committee, chief of army staff, chief of naval staff, chief of air staff, parliament, opposition and input of intelligence agencies should be taken for the formation of foreign policy of the country

In an interview a private TV channel, he said that his party didn’t believe in violence, adding that the PML-N has no militant wing and if his association with the outlawed groups were proved, he would give up politics

He said PML-N is against the violence weather it is Karachi or other area, adding that the opponents are leveling baseless allegations against PML-N regarding having relations with the militant organizations, adding that the PML-N is only party which has not been named in the Supreme Court verdict having armed wings in Karachi.

He said that if the verdict of the Supreme Court is implemented then the future of the city could be made bright, adding that the investigations of the 12th May 2007 incident should be held.

He said that if any member of PML-N was found having relations with the militants that member would be thrown out of the party.

He said that the political parties having armed wings should be banned, adding that the necessary legislation should be adopted for the purpose, adding that the there is no space for ethnic and sectarian politics in the country.

Regarding Raymond Davis release, Nawaz said that the U.S citizen Raymond Davis was released by by-passing constitution, law and the legal system. The assassin of two Pakistani citizens was mysteriously released on the orders of the Prime Minister Gilani and President Zardari, adding that Raymond is also committing crimes in US.

When quizzed, Nawaz Sharif said that he was desirous of friendly relations with Afghanistan and India and wished to resolve all issues including Kashmir through dialogues. He said that Pakistan, India and Kashmiris should collectively engage themselves into dialogues for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.

He said that it time to move forward by setting aside the political differences, adding that if we will respect ourself then others would also respect us.

He said that the begging bowl and dignity could not walk side by side, adding that the US threatened me for conducting nuclear tests but I did the job in the best interest of the nation.

He said that the time proved that president Zardari has not learnt any lesson from the past mistakes after the death of late Benazir Bhutto, adding that if President Zardari had done something good for Pakistan the PML-N would have been supporting president.

He said that there is no political will and eligibility in President Zardari, adding that president written article on Abbottabad operation in The Washington by calling it great victory and prime minister also called it great victory.

He said that PML-N is waiting the report of the Abbottabad commission, adding that we want to bring all the aspects of the incident in front of masses, adding that the present government has degraded the parliament.

He said that Asif Zardari himself enforced PML-N over sit-ins, protests and long marches, adding that President Zardari has coalition from inside with the US.

He said that the elected government should fulfill the aspirations of the masses, adding that the democracy in the country is run in manner as it is a house maid, adding that all should have to follow law and constitution of the country.

He said that everybody knows that the APC resolution was against which country, adding that there was no fear from anyone for mentioning and not mentioning the name of any country.

He said that Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif is working day and night against dengue and would be successful against dengue.

Replying a question Nawaz said that whoever tries to ditch others at last become prey to it.

He said that during the two tenures of the PML-N our focus was on the economy of the country, adding that if the PML-N had allowed completing terms the country would have been progressing.

He said that if the present government would not implement the SC verdict regarding Karachi situation the country could face great harm.

He said that he went to Sindh for showing solidarity with the Sindhis during floods, adding that the opponents are propagating against this calling it politics, adding that 625 trucks of relief goods has been sent in Sindh for flood-affetees.

He said that the Kashmir problem should be solved through dialogue process with the Pakistan, Kashmiris and India.

Answering a question, Nawaz Sharif said that the excesses were made with the Balochi people, adding that the grievances of the Balochis should be addressed, adding that if he had been the prime minister he should had made possible the participation of Baloch leadership in APC convened by prime minister recently.

Replying a question Nawaz said that the agenda of Imran Khan is to stop me (Nawaz) from becoming prime minister, adding that sometimes Imran uses abusive language I do not mind for this.
