KARACHI, Oct 11 (APP): The University of Karachi on Tuesday conferred an honorary degree of Doctorate on Interior Minister, Senator Abdul Rehman Malik.The Honorary Doctorate degree was awarded at a Special Convocation 2011 held at the Governor House here. Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan, who is also the Chancellor of the University of Karachi, conferred the degree on Senator Abdul Rehman Malik.The degree has been awarded by the Syndicate of Karachi University in recognition of his “matchless services to the country in the war on terror and particularly in restoring peace to citizens of Karachi.”
The ceremony was attended by the Vice-chancellor of the University of Karachi, Prof. Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Pro-Vice-Chancellors Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi and, Prof. Dr Nasiruddin Khan, Deans, Directors and chairpersons of the teaching departments of Karachi University.
The Registrar of Karachi University, Prof. Kaleem Raza Khan, who conducted the ceremony, read out the special citation.
