KRL shock Army in Premier League


RAWALPINDI - KRL stunned strong Army in the eighth Pakistan Premier Football League tie here at the Municipal Football Stadium on Tuesday.
Army put pressure from the start of the match but KRL defence stood firm and kept Army strikers at bay till the 20th minute of the first half but Army finally managed to break the dead lock through Ansar Mehmood, who first pulled out the goalkeeper and then sent the ball in to the empty net. Army was leading 1-0 at half time. Right after the break KRL came up with a changed plan and started playing as a one unit and their efforts immediately bore fruit as in the 47th minute Kamran Khan scored equalizer for KRL with a powerful left-footed strike as Army goalkeeper watched the ball going into net as a spectator.

Army failed to make any further progress and it looked that the match heading towards draw. KRL took full advantage of Army defence error as Kaleemullah stunned Army by scoring second goal in the 81st minute of the match and retained the lead till final breather.
